Belchfire Update
Monday, March 6th, 2006I’m quite pleased as Belchfire.net has been picking up in popularity again thanks to our new affiliation with TGT Soft and the recent improvements to the site. Plus the member galleries and blogs are getting some interest also.
XP will be around for a long time to come as from what I’ve read, the system requirements to run the new Vista, at least, in order to get all the bells and whistles (read: eye candy), will be quite steep. So I can’t see alot of folks paying Microsoft’s upgrade fee right off the hop, especially if it requires that most folks upgrade or buy a new computer in order to run it. So Belchfire should be around for a few years yet. But as we get more concrete info and as the Vista release date nears, I’ll be expanding the site to include new Vista-specific sections for themes and likely desktop and sidebar gadgets and the like. The wallpaper sections are safe as they are OS independant. So too should be the icons and possibly cursor sections, although uploads have been infrequent to those sections.
Anways, just an update. If you haven’t dropped by Belchfire.net in a while, you should chance a visit. Cheers!
