About

MeMy name is James Simmons and Belchfire SEM is my site dedicated to everything I’ve learned, the hard way, about search engine optimization, marketing and monetizing. Learn what I know and avoid the pitfalls, roadblocks and heartaches of trying to do it all yourself, listening to other so-called ‘experts’ or spending your hard-earned cash on ‘programs’ or other such rubish that simply don’t work.

All articles on Belchfire Search Engine Marketing are original and written by me.  Not some article database or hashup.  You may use or re-use my content so long as you post a link back to the original post here on seo.belchfire.net and credit me appropriately.

More about me:

I’ve been online since the early 90’s when no one knew who Yahoo or Google was, or the Internet for that matter.  If only I knew then…

In 1996 I started an ISP and web hosting company and that got me hooked.  In 1998 I took what I learned from being independent and moved on to work for a much larger regional ISP as Hosting supervisor and Domain Registrar.  We were purchased by PSINet Canada who was later aquired by TELUS in 2001.  Since then I have been product manager and am currently product specialist for Shared Hosting and domains.  It’s a unque and challenging roll in a very competetive market.

My other site is Belchfire Themes and that’s where I’ve learned most of what I know about SEO and SEM.  I have a daughter and a son on the way.  I also build computers, mostly for myself (hate fan noise, love watercooling), and play a little Oblivion now and again on my current Core 2 Duo, BadAxe 2, x1900 Crossfire rig.  And no stranger to Linux, OS-X, PHP, Perl, Python, MySQL, Apache, etc, etc. - enought to get me by, not enought to get me rich ;)
